Employees from Zyxel Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet access and connected home products, shut down their computers, set aside their phones, and left their air-conditioned offices to participate in a community service project during the company’s fifth annual “Day of Giving” on July 20, 2017.
Each year, Zyxel’s employees select a non-profit organization in the Los Angeles area and provide a day of volunteer labor to help improve their facilities or support their missions. This year, Zyxel’s employees and family members, including 70 adults and 20 children, volunteered their time at The CoastKeeper Garden in Orange, Calif. The volunteers spend the day beautifying the garden through activities that included mulching, pruning, raking, and weeding the garden.
In addition to the company’s annual “Day of Giving” event, Zyxel also provides ongoing support to various non-profit organizations throughout the year through its “Hands for Help” program. This year, Zyxel employees are supporting Mercy House, an organization that provides housing and services to the homeless, persons living with HIV/AIDS, individuals overcoming substance addictions, and individuals who are physically and mentally disabled. Zyxel’s employees are internally collecting items to assemble and donate 500 hygiene kits to the Mercy House this year.
