Employees from Zyxel Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, internet access, and connected home products, shut down their computers, set aside their phones, and left their air-conditioned offices to participate in a community service project during the company’s sixth annual “Day of Giving” on July 19, 2018.
Each year, Zyxel’s employees select a non-profit organization in the Los Angeles area and provide a day of volunteer labor to help improve their facilities or support their missions. A total of 102 volunteers (84 adults and 18 children) comprised of Zyxel employees and their family members donated their time to the Orange County Food Bank -- making this the biggest year so far! The volunteers spent their day putting together food boxes consisting of rice, beef stew, juice, corn, fruit, string beans, milk, and cereal. They packed a total of 2,440 food boxes for low-income seniors! The OC Food Bank distributes more than 20 million pounds of food annually to low-income seniors helping them meet basic needs and strengthen their support system.
