ZyXEL's ANT1106 Antenna Wins National Design Award

leading broadband access solutions provider, today announced that its ANT1106 omni-directional antenna has been recognized by the 2007 Taiwan Design Award, following its receival of Germany's Reddot design award for ZyXEL's VoIP Series. These highly coveted awards confirm not only ZyXEL's technical capability but also attest to its distinctive style and functional aesthetics.
The Taiwan Design Award is the pinnacle of national recognition for Taiwanese industrial designers. An elite panel judged the competing products based on form, function, quality and safety standards of the competing products. This year, the ZyXEL ANT1106 stood out from 132 competing entries to win the Product design Gold Award, which was presented by Chen Shui-bian, President of the ROC. The President noted that Taiwan's achievement in innovation has distinguished itself in the global market, and that soon, the image will become "Designed in Taiwan" instead of "Made in Taiwan".

The futuristic design of ZyXEL's ANT1106 Omni-directional Antenna simplifies installation and removal with a magnetic base, while the cable organizer and the convertible desktop/wall-mount design makes it suitable for use in different scenarios. Compatible with the 802.11b/g/n wireless standard, ZyXEL ANT1106's three-piece 6 dBi antenna panel provides 174% coverage area over conventional 2 dBi models to 2.4GHz wireless routers, access points and PCI adapter by using RP-SMA connectors. The ANT1106 offers a 360-degree dead spot free coverage enabling SOHO and home users to take advantage of the 300Mbps throughput and superior range of 802.11n technology without investing in additional upgrades.
