ZyXEL ZyWALL Internet Security Gateways Awarded ICSA IPSec VPN Certification
Hsinchu, Taiwan, May 6, 2002 - ZyXEL Communications Co. (TAI:2391.TW), an innovator and leading provider of broadband access solutions, today announced that its ZyWALL Internet security gateway series has been awarded Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) Virtual Private Network (VPN) certification by ICSA Labs. The ICSA Labs' Certification Program provides assurance to the user community that certified products meet industry-accepted product standards worldwide.
The ZyWALL series includes the ZyWALL 1, 10, 50, and 100, which are scaled to allow telecommuter, home, SOHO, or small business users to purchase a firewall with the exact number of VPN Tunnels. ZyWALL's IPSec VPN uses data encryption to provide transparent and secure transmission over the Internet, and provides immense cost savings by eliminating costly leased lines. The ZyWALL also features robust firewall and Internet content filtering, which allow the products to act as a secure gateway between the Internet and the LAN.
ICSA Labs examines and tests submitted IPSec products under the Version 1.0B Criteria of the ICSA Labs IPSec Product Certification Program. The testing criteria represent the most thorough and stringent certification process to date. In order to obtain this certification, the ZyWALL series had to meet a baseline set of requirements for Internet Key Exchange (IKE) and IPSec protocols that deliver entity authentication, data integrity and confidentiality; and to meet the stringent requirements of the ICSA Labs Cryptography Certification Criteria.
"We are very pleased that our ZyWALL series has been certified by the ICSA Labs," said Tony Hsu, VP of DSL CPE Business Unit. "Obtaining ICSA certification brings an additional level of confidence to our customers that we are delivering the best products possible."
All of the ZyWALL products are currently available and distributed through ZyXEL's global network of authorized distributors.
