ZyXEL ZyWALL 100 Firewall Wins ' Best Communication Product Award ' at COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2001

Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 11, 2001 -- ZyXEL Communications Co., (TAI: 2391.TW), a pioneer manufacturer and supplier of DSL CPE, today announced that its ZyWALL 100 Internet Security Gateway has been selected as "Best Communications Product" at COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2001 for it's prominent technical innovation.

The Best of COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2001 Awards are organized by Taipei Computer Association (TCA), China External Trade Development Council (CETRA), and Japan's highly esteemed magazines, Nikkei Byte & Nikkei WinPC. The Awards are competitive, as Nikkei Byte Magazine editors narrow over 300 of hardware and software products into 21 finalists, and only 1 winner was selected from each of 7 categories to represent the show's best.

Availability
The ZyWALL 100 Internet Security gateway is scheduled to be available in the third quarter of 2001. It will be distributed through ZyXEL's global network of authorized distributors.
