ZyXEL ZyAIR B-1000 and B-2000 Recognized by German Macwelt Magazine

The Wireless Networking Devices Acclaimed as Quality Winner and Test Winner

Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 25, 2003 -- ZyXEL Communications Corporation (TSE: 2391), the world's leading provider of broadband access solutions, today announced that the company's ZyAIR B-2000 WLAN Router and B-1000 WLAN Access Point have been recognized by Macwelt (www.macwelt.de), a German professional computer magazine, in its wireless network product review as the winner of "Quality Recommendation" and "Test Winner". The review and test results are expected to publish in the July 2003 issue of MacWelt.

After pooling ten WLAN access points and DSL routers with WLAN functionality into the review, Macwelt decided to give acclaims to ZyAIR for its excellent features, industrial design, user manual and documentation, as well as online technical supports.

In the "Access Points" category, the Macwelt editors commented: "Robust functions, good-looking appearance, and excellent user manual are what distinguished B-1000 from the others". They go on to praise following features: good transmission over longer distances, and the pulsating blue LED on the front panel that indicates B-1000's status in a unique way.

In the "DSL Routers with Access Point Functionality" category, the ZyAIR B-2000 was the overall winner of the review, and awarded as the "Test Winner". The editors praised the detailed Telnet configuration and the support for the "Universal Plug & Play" (UPnP) feature that enables users to install and set up effortlessly. Once again, the rich features, good manual, alongside top manufacturing quality uphold the B-2000 to the winner's throne.
