ZyXEL Unveils two ATAs for VoIP Phone Connectivity through Broadband Services

ZyXEL P-2002/2002L turns conventional phones into VoIP Phones without using PCs

Hsinchu, September 7, 2004 -- ZyXEL Communications (TSE:2391), world's leading broadband access solutions provider, today announces ZyXEL P-2002 and P-2002L Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) for IP telephony service providers (ITSPs). With ZyXEL P-2002 series installed, users with existing DSL broadband connection can instantly turn conventional telephones into IP phones. Based on highly interoperable and flexible VoIP technology platform, plus ZyXEL's versatile VoIP product lines and global deployment experience, P-2002 VoIP solutions empowers ITSPs to generate more revenue and same time ensuring future service extensions and upgrades.

Both ZyXEL P-2002 and P-2002L feature two 10M/100M Ethernet interfaces, one Line Port, and reserved two POTS phone port for converting two traditional analog phone sets into IP phones. P-2002L maintains both PSTN and IP phone services at the same time; users can place conventional calls by dialing prefix numbers, and it is capable of rerouting calls to PSTN lines in case of power outage or network disconnection.

Based on the highly flexible VoIP technology platform, ZyXEL P-2002 series offers versatile Multiple SIP and voice channels for ITSPs to design and deploy the IP phone services with enormous freedom.
