ZyXEL Successfully Completes TR-069 Interoperability Testing with Fine Point Technologies

Hsinchu, Taiwan, and New York, NY, June 13, 2005 - ZyXEL Communications Corp. (TSE:2391), the world's largest DSL router provider, and Fine Point Technologies, a leader in broadband subscriber management and support solutions, today announced they have successfully conducted interoperability testing of the DSL Forum CPE WAN Management protocol, known as the TR-069 standard. This interoperability ensures that ZyXEL DSL CPE can be easily configured, activated and managed from a console in the network, helping service providers to effectively address the costs of deployment and support of their CPE as well as tightly manage triple play service delivery.

"TR-069 provides service providers with the necessary framework for efficient and scalable deployment of new services on top of the DSL broadband infrastructure, especially today's most popular triple play services," said Albert Ju, assistant vice president of ZyXEL's CPE Product Business Unit. "Our interoperability with Fine Point's solutions and the TR-069 specification will ensure service providers to benefit from these advantages, hence accelerating DSL market penetration."

John O'Keefe, CEO of Fine Point Technologies states, "There is significant and rapidly growing demand from broadband Service Providers for TR-069 based CPE auto-configuration and remote management, and we are pleased work closely with ZyXEL to satisfy this need."

Fine Point's CyberAdvantage Device Manager allows broadband data, voice and video service providers to dramatically lower the time and costs to activate and support their subscribers. As Fine Point's mission is to empower providers of Internet services to acquire, care-for, manage and retain their subscribers at the lowest possible cost, the addition of the CyberAdvantage Device Manager to the Fine Point's Step 3 technologies that enable service delivery is a natural fit.
