ZyXEL Advocates Exploring Broadband Value with Wireless, Voice Media, Security, IP Networking at CeBIT 2004

(Hannover, March 17, 2004) At the commencement of Hannover CeBIT, the world's largest information exhibition, ZyXEL Communications (TSE:2391) announces "Exploring Broadband Value" to be the company's theme of the year. The displays in the ZyXEL booth cover the latest topics such as IP-based Infrastructure, Multi-layer Network Security for SMB, Media Session Routing Technology (MSRP) and Central Network Management. Attendees will experience how businesses enjoy rich media applications in a secured, managed network environment at the ZyXEL booth (Hall 15 D05).

As one of the few leading vendors providing complete ADSL, SHDSL and VDSL technologies, this year ZyXEL will demonstrate the IES Series of IP DSLAM, which incorporates new technologies such as ADSL 2+/2++ and QoS for service providers to offer unprecedented value-added broadband services - data transfer of up to 50Mbps speed, or extending to a longer distance, with the existing ADSL services.

As for security control, ZyXEL is offering a multiple-layered security infrastructure that has been integrated into the latest Prestige DSL and ZyWALL security appliances. Different levels of antivirus, firewall, hacker-proof and VPN protection are integrated into these devices for fulfilling SMBs' security needs.

On the multimedia application front, ZyXEL unveils several Multimedia Service Routing Technology (MSRT) products, including Home Broadband Gateways, ADSL/VDSL devices, and a complete lineup of VoIP gears. With supports to the SIP routing platform, these products do more then bringing an excellent basis for multimedia services. They also allow users to enjoy simultaneous video, voice, and data applications with abundant bandwidth.

ZyXEL's Vantage CNM (Vantage Centralized Network Management) system will become the center of the ZyXEL product-equipped network. With the demo system installed in the ZyXEL booth, attendees will get a better idea about how CNM system performs remote configuration on Prestige DSL and ZyWALL security appliances.

For the corporate wireless networks, ZyXEL will exhibit the business-level ZyAIR wireless security products and Vantage WLC (Wireless LAN Controllers). The combination provides comprehensive solutions for corporate network security policy definition, network user database establishment, authentication and authorization to the wireless users, as well as remote ZyAIR device management.
