Zyxel Group joins global security organization FIRST as first Taiwan networking provider

HSINCHU, Taiwan, December 8, 2025—Zyxel Networks, a leader in delivering secure and AI-powered cloud networking solutions, today announced that the Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) of the Zyxel Group is now officially approved as a full member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). This achievement marks Zyxel as the first Taiwan networking provider to have its PSIRT join FIRST, demonstrating the group's leadership in product security governance and international collaboration.

Widely regarded as the "United Nations of global security incident response teams," FIRST is the premier organization for incident response and security cooperation. As of December 2025, it connects 830 member teams across 113 countries, bringing together government agencies, telecommunications operators, technology companies, and research institutions to foster global resilience.

By joining FIRST, Zyxel will now share threat intelligence and vulnerability information with the global security community. In the event of major cyber incidents, the group can access real-time defense recommendations and collaborative support, significantly enhancing its overall incident response speed and defense efficacy.

"Being the first PSIRT of a Taiwan networking provider to be recognized by FIRST is a significant milestone in our long-term commitment to product security," said Edward Yu, Chief Information Security Officer of Zyxel. "This recognition signifies that Zyxel is not only continuously strengthening its product security resilience but also actively collaborating with the international security community to jointly elevate global defense capabilities."

Building a comprehensive security lifecycle

The Zyxel PSIRT is primarily responsible for tracking, reporting, and patching product vulnerabilities. It collaborates closely with the group's internal CSIRT and the TAF 17025-accredited security laboratory of its subsidiary, Black Cat Information. By establishing collaborative defense mechanisms with external security research teams, Zyxel has formed a complete security lifecycle comprising "Detection, Notification, Remediation, and Verification."

In recent years, Zyxel has also actively promoted its Vulnerability Disclosure Program (VDP) and CVE numbering authorization mechanisms to foster a more transparent and open product security environment.

As the Taiwan networking industry plays an increasingly critical role in the global supply chain, product security has evolved from a compliance requirement to a core pillar of brand trust and market competitiveness. Joining FIRST enables Zyxel to stay abreast of global attack and defense trends while strengthening security trust among supply chain partners, establishing a more solid defense foundation for the industry as a whole.
