Zyxel is launching a new AP series as an alternative to UniFi
The new series of Zyxel access points offers small and medium-sized businesses and organisations the easiest way to upgrade to the latest WiFi standard.
Zyxel has introduced a new series of access points compatible with the latest WiFi 6 (802.11ax) standard and designed primarily for small and medium-sized businesses and organisations. Available at an unbeatable price, the new series of network devices provides all features and functions necessary for secure business network operation, including centralised, local and remote configuration and management.
Intended primarily for small and home offices, hotels, cafés and shops, the new Zyxel WiFi 6 access points can be installed, configured and managed both locally or remotely using the Nebula cloud platform. The access points support up to eight WiFi networks, making it possible to separate access for employees, customers, guests and other user groups.
Three new access points for every scenario
The new series of Zyxel WiFi 6 access points includes the NWA50AX and NWA90AX interior models with flexible wall and ceiling mount options and the NWA55AXE IP-55 rated outdoor model. The latter is also suitable for wireless inter-building connectivity using the Zyxel Smart Mesh technology, which allows for efficient management of the wireless link.
Key features of the new Zyxel access points:
- Dual-radio support for the WiFi 6 (IEEE802.11ax/ac/n/g/b/a) wireless standard
- Throughput up to 575 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz band and 1200 Mb/s in the 5 GHz band
- Support for up to 8 separate WiFi networks with different SSID’s
- The latest WiFi security standard with WPA3 encryption
- Both local and cloud management using the Nebula platform
- Easy installation, configuration and centralised management
- Power over Ethernet (PoE)
The Nebula cloud platform facilitates the management of Zyxel access points from the moment they are installed and connected to the Internet. The configuration of new access points is automated to the maximum extent possible. All the administrator has to do is add a new access point to the cloud management structure. The predefined configuration assigned to the organisational unit within the cloud management system is then automatically copied to the access point. Once this is done, Nebula is ready to provide efficient remote management through cloud and an Internet browser or mobile application. The Nebula platform is highly beneficial as it allows to centrally manage all Zyxel access points and other network devices (switches and gateways), set up security, control user access to the network, update firmware and troubleshoot configuration issues.
“With these new access points, we make it possible to upgrade to the latest WiFi 6 standard fast, easily and at a highly affordable price. In addition to higher wireless network throughput, the key advantages of the WiFi 6 standard include better coverage and support for parallel data transfers with a large number of connected devices,” comments Petr Koudelka, Zyxel Senior Sales Engineer.
