ZyXEL Will Present a Fresh Face at CeBIT '99 with a Whole New Array of Internet Access Solutions
Hannover, March 18, 1999- ZyXEL Communications Corporation today announced it will exhibit a new generation of Internet access solutions for the booming SOHO and SMB users at CeBit'99 in Hannover, March 18th-24th. The booth (Hall 14, Stand J56) will be designed with three areas of focus to better demonstrate each of ZyXEL's Internet access solutions.
The new generation of networking technologies from ZyXEL, include the Prestige series access routers, as well as the omni.net LCD series of ISDN terminal adapters, provide complete solutions for Internet access. Capitalizing on ZyNOS, the powerful networking operation system embedded in ZyXEL's routers, enhances the price/performance of the entire network, permitting easier configuration, more reliable operation, and future upgradability of ZyXEL's router product lines.
Centered on leading VPN (Virtual Private Network) and Firewall solutions tailored to the needs of a medium business, ZyXEL's Prestige 1000 series incorporates industry standard IPSec (IP Security) and L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) to satisfy business' essential requirements for secure, reliable Extranet applications. Integrated firewall extends network protection to business users, provide a level of security that was price prohibitive previously.
As the first product in ZyXEL's Prestige 1000 series, the Prestige 1200 provides dual LAN capability as well as two modular slots for interchangeable WAN cards. Dual 10/100M LAN capability is designed for today's business Internet environment: one for public Internet access and the other for private Intranet access. With an embedded RISC CPU, the Prestige 1200 can perform DES encryption for complete security protection as well as support multiple access technologies such as T1/E1, ISDN, and xDSL.
Targeting the SMB market segment, ZyXEL's new Prestige 400 router series employs the latest networking technologies to facilitate a flexible and high performance Internet access solution. In CeBIT '99, ZyXEL will exhibit the Prestige 480 which represents the industry's first router equipped with dual ISDN BRI and 10/100M Ethernet support. This unparalleled design enables transmission speeds of up to 256Kbps or even higher with compression enabled. With this broadband solution, businesses can enjoy the ISDN highway through dynamic bandwidth optimization while significantly minimizing their costs compared with conventional Fractional T1/E1 solutions.
Elaborating on ZyXEL's award-winning Prestige 100 series, ZyXEL will roll out the new Prestige 200 router series for today's fast-changing network environment. All the new Prestige 200 series routers are equipped with a full-duplex auto-sensing 10/100M Ethernet LAN port which significantly improves the performance of LAN. With this new feature, ZyXEL's new Prestige 202 enables multiple users to share an ISDN line easily to the Internet. The Prestige 242, with a 4-port 10/100M hub and a print server built-in, is designed to allow SOHO users to share printers and, most importantly, share Internet and remote corporate network access.
Supporting the latest Home Phoneline Networking Alliance (HomePNA) standard, ZyXEL introduces its new Prestige 262, which permits home users to build up their home network without needing extra wiring in their homes. With this simple and easy-to-use home networking solution, users can interchange files, send and receive e-mail, share printers, access the Internet, play interactive network games, and much more.
Aimed at today's trend toward broadband communication, the Prestige 300 series' 10/100Mbps Ethernet interface provides a high performance LAN environment for SOHO users while the 10Mbps WAN port allows installation of today's most popular cable modems. Other broadband solutions from ZyXEL's Prestige router include the Prestige 640 ADSL router series and Prestige 900 cable modem router series, which enables SOHO to enjoy fast transmission speeds of more than 100 times faster than conventional analog modems.
In addition to a whole new array of Prestige routers, ZyXEL will also demonstrate its most popular omni.net LCD series terminal adapters at the booth, including the all new USB interface models, omni.net LCD Plus and omni.net 80. Visitors will find that ZyXEL has both a complete range of leading technologies as well as the expertise, to make Internet access as easy as possible.
