ZyXEL GS-4000 series sports the latest high-performance switching chipset, empowering a non-blocking switching architecture and full line-rate L3 routing performance for enterprise-level services such as highly flexible QoS bandwidth management, robust network access policies and High Availability (HA). The GS-4000 series is the most complete GbE solutions for large enterprises, campus networks, as well as SMB to build an intelligent core network.

ZyXEL GS-4000 series is based on a new-generation hardware IP routing engine with several high-end L3 routing functionalities, including OSPF V2 and RIP V1/V2 dynamic routing protocols. In response to the growing complexity of network environment and demand for higher availability, GS-4000 series also supports VRRP (Virtual Redundant Routing Protocol) for multiple routing backups and load-balancing services.

The intelligent traffic management features of ZyXEL GS-4000 series is competent on both network performance and Quality of Service (QoS), thanks to its packet categorizing, prioritizing and bandwidth allocation capabilities. Its advanced packet prioritization algorithm allows key services like voice communications to preempt more bandwidth and thus enjoy better transmission quality.

ZyXEL GS-4000 series provides comprehensive L2/L3/L4 Access Control List (ACL) function, bringing strict security control to every port. The security measures on the GS-4000 series include network security policies, advanced MAC management and instant deterrence of illegal access. With the rock-solid security features, network administrators will have the freedom to construct corporate networks with maximum protection while spending minimum efforts.

For even higher availability and reliability, the GS-4000 series can be paired with ZyXEL BPS-120 Power Backup that supports dual power supply to minimize system outages caused by single power failures. Like many ZyXEL managed switches, GS-4000 series also bolsters the ZyXEL-exclusive iStacking(tm) cluster management that automatically locates other iStacking-capable ZyXEL switches. Administrators can freely choose from Web and Telnet management interfaces, and activate SSHv1/v2 or SSL/TLS encryption for safe connections.

ZyXEL GS-4024 and GS-4012F are of the same 19-inch, 1U-height chassis-mount design. The GS-4024 features 20 1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports, while GS-4012F features 8 standard open SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) slots. Both offer four dual-personality GbE uplink ports: four 1000Mbps RJ-45 ports or four standard open SFP slots. The GS-4012F is capable of a maximum full line rate L3 switching throughput of 24Gbps, while GS-4024 is capable of reaching the amazing 48Gbps.
