ZyXEL Obtains IPv6 Ready Logo Phase II, First in Taiwan and 13th in the World

ZyXEL P- 662HW ADSL2+ Router Becomes World First CPE Router to Receive Both Host/Router Phase II Logos

Hsinchu, August 17, 200--ZyXEL Communications Corp. (TSE:2391), a world leading broadband access solutions provider, today announced that its P-662HW, a high performance ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ router, has been certificated for the IPv6 Ready Logo Phase II on July 29, 2005.  This certification makes ZyXEL the first in Taiwan and the 13th in the world to receive IPv6 Ready Logo Phase II.

"ZyXEL's P-662HW ADSL2+ router was the first Phase II application from Taiwan, and was also the world first CPE router that received both host/router Phase II Logos," said Troy Gau, Vice President of Advanced Technology Center. "The joint review process by the Program Committees of Taiwan, Japan, and Korea took more than a month. The result showed ZyXEL's continuous investment in advanced technologies, as well as the conformance of our ZyNOS IPv6 implementation to the standard."

The IPv6 Ready Logo Program is an IPv6 product certification program sponsored by The IPv6 Forum. Phase I Logo, started in September 2003, consists of 107 test items to ensure connectivity. Phase II Logo, launched in February 2005, designed for professional use, is roughly three times more extensive, and consists of close to 400 test scripts. A product that has passed all of the test items demonstrates its appliance to the "Conformance" and "Interoperability" to the standard. There are sixteen Phase II Logos approved up to now: eight from Japan, six from U.S., and two from Taiwan (both from ZyXEL).
