Instead of command lines, graphical icons will enable the users to preview the files quickly and easily by using thumbnails. The alphabetical search bar design provides a convenient way to find the file you're looking for amongst the thousands of songs, photos and videos that you've stored. It is also possible to create a music list and listen to music while viewing a photo slide show.
Another wonderful feature is the advanced zPilot™ file auto-classification function, which makes it very easy to store and manage all your media files by just a simple drag-and-drop action. The files (one or more file/folders) being dragged to the zPilot™ icon on the desktop can be automatically identified and delivered to music, photo or any other designated folders that you've created on the device. It is also easy and convenient for users to check their upload status at any time.
The NSA221 also provides an all-in-one backup solution to protect all your valuable data. With the intelligent "Copy/Sync" button, the NSA221 can easily help you copy to or from external USB storage devices, card readers and digital cameras. In addition, the "Backup Planner" provides instant backup and scheduled backups from the NSA221 to other ZyXEL storage devices or external USB mass storages.
More than just user-friendly, the NSA221 is also more eco-friendly and energy efficient, helping to save money for our consumers. While consuming less power without compromising performance, the NSA221 consumes 80% less energy as compared to traditional PC storage. The scheduling function design can automatically perform power management tasks according to the users' usage pattern. With the advanced internal hard disk hibernation support, the hard disks in the device can automatically spin down when there is no data transmission after a certain period of time. It is also equipped with smart fan technology, so the NSA221's fan can run at slower speeds to help reduce energy consumption when the system's temperature is low.
