ZyXEL Debuts World's First 3-Layer Security Scheme for Robust SMB Network

ZyXEL SMART SOC Centralizes ZyXEL Network Device Administration for Effective Defence

Hsinchu, Taiwan, March 8, 2005 - ZyXEL Communications (TSE: 2391), world's leading broadband access solutions provider, will unveil its ZyXEL SMART Security Operation Center (SMART SOC) solution for small- and mid-sized business in the Hannover CeBIT Show (Hall 15 C05), which entitles ZyXEL as the world's first vendor to offer the 3-layer network protection scheme. ZyXEL's multilayer defence solution is designed for the gateways, workgroups and individuals to provide all-aspect security products and services for SMB to construct an effective, extensive and in-depth information security network.

The new ZyXEL 3-layer defense scheme is managed by ZyXEL SMART SOC, a joint defence mechanism designed exclusively for SMB. The system is capable of administrating ZyXEL firewalls, managed switches, wireless access points, as well as their management systems. ZyXEL SMART SOC scans for network irregularities persistently, then locates and isolates the infected computer to prevent other nodes from infection. These effective measures provide holistic protection to everyone for a safer working environment.

On the perimeter gateway protection, ZyXEL employs the integrated, multifunction ZyWALL 5/35/70 firewall and ZyWALL IDP 10 intrusion detection and protection system to provide choices of outbound connections in different scales.
