ZyXEL Debuts NBG-318S Wireless HomePlug AV Router

HomePlug AV, Wi-Fi and LAN 3-in-1 box eases home network deployment and enjoyment

Hsinchu, March 13, 2007–ZyXEL Communications Corp. (TSE: 2391), the world's leading broadband access solutions provider, today announced its NBG-318S, the company's first Wireless HomePlug AV router to be demonstrated at ZyXEL's booth (Hall 15 D05) in Hannover CeBIT taking place between March 15 and 21, 2007. The router turns power outlets into a home network backbone for wired and wireless LAN that fully conforms to the latest HomePlug AV and 802.11b/g standards. With data rate up to 200Mbps over power lines, ZyXEL NBG-318S is not only designed for Internet data sharing but is also capable of streaming digital multimedia contents all over the house.

ZyXEL HomePlug AV technology empowers NBG-318S to provide amazing data rate of up to 200Mbps over power lines; besides, NBG-318S features Super G technology that boosts Wi-Fi performance to 54Mbps or even 108Mbps in the high-speed mode. NBG-318S LAN connection between the router and power line devices and reduces the wireless performance degradation caused by extended distances. From the security perspective, ZyXEL NBG-318S is reinforced by the 128-bit AES encryption for wired connection and WPA/WPA2 for wireless to prevent illegitimate users from tapping the network.
