ZyXEL Communications named ' Company of the Year ' by Virginia Beach Users Group

Superior technical support and outstanding product quality cited

Placentia, February. 5, 2001 ZyXEL Communications today announced that it has been named "Company of the Year" by the Virginia Beach Users Group. The selection was made by the members of the group through open voting on the organization's website from November 2000 to January 2001.

According to group spokesperson Todd Williams, ZyXEL won by an "overwhelming total." Key factors in the company's selection included its highly reliable, easy-to-install Internet access solutions and its outstanding technical support.

ZyXEL first came under consideration for the award during a comparative review of SOHO access routers. As part of the review process, VBUG's technical team purposely introduced a configuration error and called the participating vendors for support. ZyXEL was the only vendor that proved capable of fixing the problem, and there was no charge for the service. This earned ZyXEL a five-star rating from VBUG.

"As the local voice for our area's user community, we are very committed to encouraging vendors to deliver the highest possible levels of technical service and support to their customers," said Chris Wise, VBUG's president. "ZyXEL offers an excellent example of a vendor that embraces this vision. We are very happy to be able to recognize their superb support and service policies by bestowing this award on them."

This is the eighth consecutive year that VBUG has selected a technology vendor to honor. Previous recipients have included Microsoft, Cisco, and Corel.
