Once again, ZyXEL Wins Reddot Design Award

Omni-directional Antenna and Dual-band Wireless N Gigabit Router stand out from the competition

Hsinchu, Taiwan, April 17, 2008-- ZyXEL Communications (TSE: 2391), the world's leading broadband access solutions provider, once again won the 2008 German Reddot Design Award with its Omni-directional Antenna and Dual-band Wireless N Gigabit Router, following its VoIP series win last year.

Founded over 50 years ago by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, the most prestigious design association in Germany, the Reddot Award has become one of the highly celebrated international industrial awards. In 2008, 3203 entries from 51 countries were meticulously inspected and evaluated from innovation, functionality, aesthetics, marketability, ergonomics and ecological compatibility by internationally recognized experts. The competitive success of ZyXEL designs amidst the impressive competition reaffirms the ability of the company to turn technology products into masterpieces.

To ZyXEL, recognition from the Reddot Award is another boost to the ANT1106 Omni-directional Antenna, winner of Taiwan's National Gold Award of Product Design in 2007. More than just a bold move away from traditional designs, the simplistic three-piece antenna also provides coverage without annoying dead spots; the polished, streamlined exterior emphasizes its refinements derived from a high-tech root. The magnetic attachment between the antenna and the base offers convenient assembly, as well as a flexible desktop or wall-mount installation to meet different location needs. The unit is capable of extending wireless signal coverage by 174% for 2.4GHz WiFi routers, access points and PCI to improve connectivity and data throughput.

The other award-winning product, Dual-band Wireless N Gigabit Router, is a wireless router featuring MIMO (multiple-input, multiple-output) technology that empowers astounding performance to satisfy the networking and multimedia demands of home users today.
