Firmware upgrade is a supportive service that allows you to receive notification of the latest available firmware and to quickly download via either device GUI or myZyxel. The automatic, complimentary firmware upgrade service is built into your device with firmware V4.20 or above as soon as it is registered on myZyxel.
2. Do I need to pay for the firmware upgrade service?
No, this is a complimentary service and is available once the device is registered on myZyxel.
3. What can I benefit from the firmware upgrade service?
It's always your best interest to use the latest firmware. With the latest firmware, you can enjoy new feature enhancements, bug fixes and solutions that protect your network from security vulnerabilities.
4. If firmware upgrade service expires, will my devices stop working?
No, this is a complimentary service and is available once the device is registered on myZyxel.
- If the firmware upgrade service expires, your devices will keep working. It's suggested to download the ZLD 4.25 patch 1 to ensure the lifetime firmware upgrade service.
- For the registered ZLD 4.20 and ZLD 4.25 devices, the firmware upgrade service will remain activated until Dec 31, 2020.
- The ZLD 4.25 patch 1 activates lifetime firmware upgrade service by default.
5. If I register one of my devices on myZyxel., can I obtain the firmware files for all different models?
No, only the specific firmware file for the registered model can be downloaded. This is to ensure our customers receive correct firmware files. For Zyxel Partners, please contact to your local support for further assistance.

Starting from the firmware version ZLD 4.25 and above, you will not be able to download the firmware files directly from Zyxel's corporate website; the link will be redirected to the myZyxel sign-in page and you'll find matching registered devices under your account.
