Zyxel Networks converges cloud and on-premises security with USG FLEX H series firewalls
HSINCHU, Taiwan, April 14, 2025—Zyxel Networks, a leader in delivering secure and AI-powered cloud networking solutions, is unveiling its upgraded USG FLEX H series firewalls, combining the best of both cloud and on-premises network security into one seamless solution for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and managed service providers (MSPs). This approach unifies cloud and on-premises security, eliminating security silos in hybrid environments with AI-powered protection.
Unifying cloud and on-premises through Smart Sync
Unlike most hybrid firewalls that treat cloud and on-premises security as separate entities, the USG FLEX H series sets itself apart by integrating them through Smart Sync. This is achieved by synchronizing security policies, network objects, and high availability settings across platforms, ensuring consistent protection while eliminating manual duplication. The integration streamlines management, enhances efficiency, and delivers a unified, scalable, and future-proof network experience.
Holistic protection from day one
The USG FLEX H series firewalls now come equipped with Zyxel Networks’ new Entry Defense Pack (EDP) license, providing businesses with essential security features straight from set up. The EDP includes features such as Reputation Filter, SecuReporter analytics, and Priority Support, ensuring SMBs have comprehensive, up-to-date defense against the latest security threats from day one.
AI-driven, multi-layered solution
Powered by new, next-generation hardware, the USG FLEX H series delivers three times the firewall, VPN, and Unified Threat Management (UTM) performance compared to its predecessor. With multi-gigabit speeds ranging from 1G to 10G, the series offers ample capacity to handle growing network demands. Its AI-driven, multi-layered protection includes IKEv2/EAP and SSL VPN, sandboxing, anti-malware, DNS/IP/URL filtering, IPS, and application patrol, providing deep defense against emerging threats.
In an effort to enhance identity and access security, Nebula cloud integration enforces two-factor authentication (2FA) on organization-level admin access, as well as Microsoft Entra ID sign-in to authenticate users accessing the Nebula wireless AP captive portal. This extra layer of protection ensures only authorized individuals can access critical resources.
“The upgraded USG FLEX H series reflects Zyxel Networks’ commitment to providing SMBs with a network security solution that simplifies management while addressing the growing need for stronger, more intelligent protection,” said Mr. Ken Tsai, President of Zyxel Networks. “Through our continuous engagement with customers, we’ve built a solution that reduces complexity and boosts security, helping SMBs navigate the challenges of modern network environments with ease.”
The new cloud and on-premises convergence features are available in April 2025 on USG FLEX H series firewalls running Nebula version 19.00 and firewall firmware version uOS v1.32. For more information, please visit https://www.zyxel.com/USGFLEX-50H
