Power Usage Adjustment by Link Status
The ZyXEL Switch Series can automatically adjust power usage according to the number of active devices connected to ZyXEL switches. When any shut down network device or inactive link is detected, ZyXEL Switches will reduce the power accordingly.
Saving Energy by Detecting Cable Length
Switches usually send full power to cables regardless of the actual length. With the latest green technology, ZyXEL Switches Series can automatically adjust power usage according to the length of the Ethernet cable to help users reducing energy cost. The shorter the cable length, the less power it consumes.
Wireless Scheduling
In order to save power and reduce wireless radiation when wireless network in not in use, ZyXEL's Wi-Fi devices can be customized to turn on or off automatically according to the users' wireless usage pattern. Users may have their router start up automatically when they get home and shut off when they go to sleep. The intelligent energy-saving benefit will help users saving energy consumption when the devices are not in use.
Wake On Demand
The feature automatically reduces power usage by bringing the ZyXEL Device out of power-saving mode only when network activities such as Internet access or an Internet call are initiated.
Smart Fan Control
With smart fan technology, the fans in ZyXEL's Network Storage Appliances and Switches can run at slower speeds to reduce power consumption when the system temperature is low.
Intelligent Power over Ethernet (PoE)
The main drawback of PoE switch deployment is that even the connected devices require only a lower amount of power, the switches still supplies the full level of power. In order to reduce power consumption, ZyXEL's intelligent PoE switches provide the power the devices actually needed with the auto-detection capability.
