ZyXEL Enters Gigabit SOHO Switch Market with New Dimension GS Series

Hsinchu, Taiwan, May 19, 2003 -- ZyXEL Communications Co., (TSE: 2391) world's leading broadband access solutions vendor, today unveils Dimension GS, a new series of 100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Switch products aiming at today's small office and home office (SOHO) environment. Consisting of GN-650T Gigabit PCI network adapter, GS-105/108 5/8-port 100/1000Mbps Gigabit desktop Ethernet Switch, the Dimension Gigabit SOHO Series offers stunningly fast data transfer speed, in addition to a slim and plug-and-play design, which facilitates the SOHO users to exploit their broadband connection.

The ZyXEL Gigabit SOHO Ethernet Switch Series complies to the IEEE802.3 10Base-T, IEEE802.3u 100Base-TX, and IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T standards, and the models provide five (GS-105) or eight (GS-108) 10/100/1000M switching ports respectively. GS-105 and GS-108 are capable of detecting the speed of all ports and full/half-duplex transfer mode, as well as supporting the IEEE 802.3x Flow Control protocol. In addition, the Auto-MDI/MDIX function is able to adjust send/receive modes automatically according to the signals of the connected devices.
