ZyXEL Delivers Omni 56K Smart V.90 Data/Fax Modem

The New Modem Provides Pocket-sized and Lightweight Solution for Dial-up Internet Access

Hsinchu, Taiwan, September 20, 2002 -- ZyXEL Communications Co. ZyXEL Omni 56K Smart incorporates ZyDAS sixth generation modem data pump, and is an ideal solution for SOHO and mobile users browsing the Web, accessing corporate Intranet, receiving e-mails, and much more.

Designed for dial-up Internet access, ZyXEL's Omni 56K Smart complies with the V.90 standard and can run a downstream maximum rate of 56Kbps and upstream rate of 33.6Kbps. Supporting built-in G3 send and receive fax functions at speeds of up to 14.4Kbps, the Omni 56K Smart also works as an ideal fax machine.

The Omni 56K Smart provides the convenience of a serial port for optimum data speeds. The pocket-sized and lightweight design makes the Omni 56K Smart completely portable to meet the dynamic demands of today's rapidly increasing telecommuters and mobile users.

The Omni 56K Smart provides the best transmission quality with its automatic fall-back and fall-forward technology. The Omni 56K Smart will automatically adapt its transmission speed when communicating with slower modems or when encountering unstable line conditions. The modem will resume the maximum speed once the transmission condition returns to normal.
