Hsinchu, Taiwan, 7th September 2021–Zyxel Networks, a leader in delivering secure, AI- and cloud-powered business and home networking solutions, today announces the launch of the MG-105 and the MG-108 -5/8 port unmanaged switches, which are set to help prosumers, content creators and SMBs achieve the full potential of bandwidth-heavy network devices with a 2.5G high-speed connection.

The next generation of network devices– such as WiFi 6 routers, network attached storage (NAS), and laptops or gaming PCs running at 2.5G speed – all demand faster connectivity. Many users struggle to unlock the full potential of such devices. Zyxel’s new Multi-Gigabit switch portfolio is a game changer for those users, empowering them to upgrade to higher speeds and achieve the very best network performance with ease, giving them more time to focus on what they do best, instead of worrying about their connection.

Make media-rich streaming a breeze

The MG-105 and the MG-108 are perfect for prosumers who find themselves needing speed when streaming or transferring large files to servers, NAS, or other devices, as well as while working from home, or managing data-heavy gaming. But making the upgrade to a stronger connection shouldn't be difficult. That's why the MG-105 and the MG-108 come with 2.5G Ethernet connection on all ports and can be used with ordinary Cat5e cabling, to help users achieve a more powerful network without hassle.

The new switch family also ensures that precious time isn't wasted on set-up. Users can make the most of the plug and play unmanaged functionality to get a faster network up and running immediately. Their small size, versatile wall, and desk mounts, and fanless design also make the switches a discreet addition to both the home and the office – delivering interruption- and noise-free gameplay or content streaming. Despite the switches’ powerful ability, they consume low power, also helping users save energy.

In addition to the new switches, Zyxel has also launched two new PoE injectors – PoE12-30W and PoE12-60W – that feature advanced speeds and deliver more power for advancement to WiFi 6 networks. PoE12-30W offers up to 30W power budget with 2.5G ethernet connectivity, while PoE12-60W offers up to 60W power budget with 5G ethernet connectivity.
