Zyxel Powers Up Fault-tolerant Network for Russian Electric Equipment Distributor

With business booming, Minimax needed an urgent upgrade to its nationwide network to support the increasing flow of information among its head office and branches. Seeking a fault-tolerant network and working with Zyxel partner Abak-2000, Minimax’s management decided to rebuild its enterprise information system (EIS). It did so by organizing backup communication channels for each branch and supplying equipment allowing the simultaneous use of two communication channels with automatic switching in the event of an emergency downing one of them. The project was implemented by a Minimax engineer and comprised a large number of Zyxel firewalls, with 101 cloud-based VPN firewalls along with three ZyWALL ATP500s, which delivers advanced protection against evolving threats through cloud machine learning and sandboxing. With these solutions in place, the new EIS is operating smoothly. Communication among branches and the head office is worlds apart from what it used to be, with easy and secure data sharing and with the freshly fault-tolerant network yet to suffer any downtime.

Equipment from three major global manufacturers were considered in the tender. We went with Zyxel Networks for its superior price to quality ratio. In contrast, the first bid was overly expensive and the second did not stack up in terms of ease of use. Zyxel’s bid, however, offered all the functionality we needed as well as sufficient reliability – and all at an affordable price.
