Hsinchu, Taiwan, 30 September 2020—Zyxel Networks today launched Armor G5 AX6000 12-Stream Multi-Gigabit Security WiFi 6 Router, a powerful new router whose WiFi 6 capabilities give data-hungry users the high efficiency, capacity, and Gigabit speeds they need for video-intensive and IoT-heavy networks.
The latest wireless standard, WiFi 6 is selling fast as the answer to performance issues faced by networks with high bandwidth demands, be they from home office, IoT, or high-res video needs. “However, most early adopters aren’t experiencing the full potential of WiFi 6, since this requires a compatible WiFi 6 router. Armor G5’s magic starts under the hood. With a 64-bit 2.2 GHz quad-core processor, supported by 13 high-gain antennas and 12 WiFi streams, the router can handle more than 30 simultaneous connections without compromising on speed.
On the wired side, Armor G5’s 10G Multi-Gig Ethernet LAN port delivers a quantum leap over the 1G, 2.5G, and 5G LAN ports on most routers. For content creators and other users who need to transfer or back up large files on a local network storage device, Armor G5’s 10G speeds are a lifesaver, potentially saving hours of time every month.
Secured VPN connections for remote access
Armor G5 puts home office and prosumer users first with its security, too. The router comes with full support for OpenVPN, which can be connected with any third-party VPN service. This allows users to protect every connection and device on their network – even those that don’t normally allow VPN protection, like smart TVs and gaming consoles. And, when users are out of the house, it enables them to create VPN tunnels to securely access their home networks.
The user-friendly experience extends to the router’s initial setup. The Armor Mobile App provides a guided step-by-step installation while the web-based user interface makes management straightforward and learning curve-free.
