Celebrating 35 years of technological innovation

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the founding of Zyxel Group by Dr Shun-I Chu.

35 years ago, our headquarters were established at Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, and our exciting journey to digitally connect businesses and home users began.

But let's take a trip down memory lane and explore what other technological wonders were happening in 1989.

From the invention of the World Wide Web by Tim Berners-Lee, to the launch of the first GPS satellite and the Galileo spacecraft by NASA, 1989 paved the way for the connected world we know today.

Plus, who could forget the release of the first version of Microsoft Office – Office 1.0, which included applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint?

And for all the gamers out there, it's worth mentioning that the iconic Nintendo Game Boy and Sega Genesis were also introduced in 1989.

As for pop culture, we can't ignore the arrival of The Simpsons and Taylor Swift, who has become one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Fast forward to today and we've come a long way. Thanks to your support, we now reach over 150 countries, connecting more than 1 million businesses and over 100 million users with our cloud-based, AI-powered networking solutions. We couldn't have done it without you, so join us in celebrating this milestone and let’s go together towards a more closely connected world!
