You (probably) heard it here first

If you’ve attended one of our webinars or events recently, or you’ve been talking to someone from Zyxel Networks or a Zyxel Networks partner, you might well have heard WiFi 7 being mentioned. Frankly, I’d be surprised if it hadn’t been mentioned a few times at least. We’re pretty excited about this new emerging standard. It’s up to five times faster than WiFi 5; it delivers a 20% higher data rate; doubles bandwidth, and almost completely eliminates latency.

These are the sorts of things that get technophiles like us excited and to be perfectly honest, they should also get businesses and users excited as well. If you need fast, reliable WiFi that is consistently good for all users all of the time, WiFi 7 is a technology that will really deliver. This is especially true in dense environments where you have large numbers of users within a confined area. Conference centres, hotels, arenas and stadiums, schools and colleges, airports and railway stations, for example, will all notice the difference when they upgrade to WiFi 7.

We launched our first WiFi 7 access point – the high performance WBE660S – in October 2023 last year and it’s been very well received indeed. We’re now about to extend our range with the NWA130BE, a mid-range WiFi 7 access point aimed at smaller and mid-sized businesses or home users that want the highest wireless network speeds they can get, along with zero latency.

More options are coming later in the year, but the message is that WiFi 7 is here and you can start to enjoy its enhanced speed and reliability right away. This may be the first you have heard about it – unless you have been talking to us recently, in which case we may well have mentioned it a few times.
