A state-of-the-art choice for Gigabit broadband services
The new Zyxel GES1116 Series 16-port G.fast DPU supports G.fast technology to meet the demand for higher speeds from new applications such as 4K TV, VR and more. With the G.fast technology, the existing copper line (twisted-pair or coaxial*) infrastructure is no longer out-of-date as operators don’t need to rebuild the current infrastructure in order to deploy real Gigabit-class services in limited time. The Zyxel GES1116 Series complies with the G.9700 and G.9701 standards to achieve speeds of up to 1 Gbps in short loop and 500 Mbps in 250m distance. The GES1116 Series not only supports G.fast technology with 106b profile, but also the co-existing VDSL for smooth migration from VDSL to G.fast.
Temperature-hardened, dual-power design with battery charger for easy remote installations
The Zyxel GES1116 Series comes in a compact 1U design and is capable of operating in environment temperatures ranging from -40°C to 65°C to meet various FTTB (Fiberto-the-Building) conditions worldwide. Furthermore, as the GES1116 Series has the battery charger function, customers don’t need an additional SMR to power the GES1116 Series while charging the backup battery at the same time. This reduces CAPEX and makes installation easier as well.
Non-blocking design for real 1 Gbps speed
As the G.fast standard can reach up to 1 Gbps in short loop and some other brands may have similar products, not every brand can actually meet the requirement. With 2x 10 Gbps NNI, the Zyxel GES1116 Series allows subscriber to enjoy the real 1 Gbps service.
Sophisticated OAM&P features
The Zyxel GES1116 Series provides various management methods such as a local console port, Telnet and SNMP v1/v2/v3-based EMS (NetAtlas EMS). The management functions include Alarm and Status Surveillance, Configuration Management, Performance Management and Fault Management. It also allows multiple administrative accounts with 3-level access privileges.
The NetAtlas EMS also provides view-based MIB management that allows partial MIB objects to be defined and accessed for customization and security purposes. In addition, Cluster Management enables multiple MSAN administration sessions with a single/master IP address, while the XML-based northbound interface is also equipped to interoperate with external OSS systems.
