18 February 2014 – Zyxel Communications announced today that it will showcase its latest LTE Remote Protocol at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014. This protocol represents Zyxel’s advanced breakthrough in the integration of xDSL CPE development with cutting-edge LTE technology. Zyxel will be exhibiting at MWC in hall 5, booth 5G10 at the Fira Gran Via, in Barcelona, Spain.

Zyxel is a global leader in broadband networking technology. For more than 25 years, the company has been providing a wide portfolio of wired and wireless network solutions for customers ranging from telecommunications, service providers to small- and medium-size businesses as well as home users.

The innovative Zyxel LTE Remote Protocol can be enabled in Zyxel indoor xDSL CPE or in a variety of gateway products as a web portal for other LTE devices, such as outdoor CPE. Using this protocol, the LTE ODUs installed in outdoor spaces can be remotely managed.

At MWC, Zyxel will showcase its complete LTE portfolio, including mobile portable devices, LTE routers, Indoor VoIP IAD, and Outdoor Data Routers. Zyxel LTE solutions have been designed to provide seamless wireless experiences for home and business users, helping them stay connected. The Zyxel LTE Router Series provides dual-mode and multiple-band support with extensive network coverage. With the dual-mode design, the ZyXEL 4G LTE Router Series can not only connect to 4G LTE networks, but can also fall back to 3G mode when a 4G LTE network is not yet available. The Zyxel 4G LTE Router Series supports multiple LTE frequency bands, which offer the flexibility to support multiple frequency bands required by different operators. Zyxel’s LTE products also feature advanced QoS (Quality of Service) designed for triple-play services. Furthermore, they are highly integrated with remote intelligence through the Zyxel LTE Remote Protocol.

Zyxel understands the ubiquitous connectivity demands of end consumers. At MWC 2014, the company’s latest compact LTE portable router (WAH7204) supporting Cat. 4 will be unveiled in public for the first time. The WAH7204 offers changeable battery alternatives for both small batteries and power banks. The attached power bank can achieve connectivity of up to 24 hours, allowing users on the move to establish high-speed 4G LTE service with 3G failover for faster transmission and increased coverage.

The multi-WAN gateway (SBG3600) for small business is another product in the spotlight at MWC 2014. The SBG3600 offers flexible multi-WAN connectivity to adapt to various internet connection interfaces. It features VDSL2/ADSL2+ functionality, GbE WAN with SFP interface, and one built-in LTE WAN.

For Telco infrastructures, Zyxel provides UMTS small-cell CPEs with the latest 802.11ac technology, and LTE small-cell CPEs for operators to offload mobile data, as well as increase coverage and user density. These small-cell CPEs leverage existing home broadband services, such as DSL or cable networks, to reduce backhaul costs. They also blend seamlessly into the home environment while increasing user flexibility for installing further devices.
