Headquartered in Batesville, Mississippi, Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association (TVEPA) is an electric cooperative in northeast Mississippi that has over 28,000 meters and more than 22,000 members. TVEPA provides service over 5,000 miles of electric lines across a service area that extends into very rural areas and out to the Mississippi Delta.
Main challenge
TVEPA was looking to meet the demand for access to reliable, high-speed internet connectivity to rural areas that have few or no options for broadband service.

The existing broadband service options available in their service area were not ideal for consumers and businesses as internet usage requirements changed drastically due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Therefore, TVEPA decided to roll out fiber optic, high-speed internet services – TVI Fiber to all its home and business customers.
TVEPA selected Zyxel for several reasons. In addition to superior performance in speed, Zyxel’s CPE offers a robust remote management system, drastically reducing truck rolls and improving customer satisfaction. Zyxel’s dedicated technical support has also been instrumental during the rollout.

Results
The rollout of the TVI Fiber service was rapid and smooth. Customers of TVEPA have been given positive feedback on the stable, high-performance connectivity enabled by Zyxel CPE.
