18 February 2013 — Zyxel Communications, a world-class broadband networking company that provides leading Internet solutions for customers ranging from telecommunications service providers, small- and medium-sized businesses to home users, will make its first appearance at Mobile World Congress (MWC), to be held in Barcelona, 25-28 February, 2013, in Hall 5, booth 5B60 in Spain. Zyxel’s continuing introduction of products and solutions for the mobile market make this a natural fit.

The MWC is one of the world’s biggest industrial events, attracting leading mobile ecosystem players who demonstrate and define trends as well as illustrate the progression of mobile technologies, products, and solutions. Guests to Zyxel’s booth will discover the company’s wide-ranging wireless solutions for mobile, featuring 4G LTE CPEs supporting VoLTE technologies, Femtocell and WiFi hotspot, as well as 4G LTE module-built multi-WAN wireless gateway.

According to GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association), 145 operators around the world have launched LTE-enabled commercial services in 66 countries by the end of 2012. It also forecasts that 234 LTE networks will be commercially launched in 83 countries in 2013. As the service has gained momentum, the number of LTE subscriptions increased almost 10-fold, reaching 44 million subscribers by September 2012. The phenomenon has proven that LTE technology has quickly been established as the fastest developing mobile system technology. To address this promising segment, Zyxel and other vendors with different expertise are delivering varied innovations to further accelerate mobile’s growth.

Zyxel offers expertise grounded in the company’s more than 20 years of expertise in broadband networking technologies. Over the past two decades, the company has introduced numerous breakthroughs based on state-of-the-art wireless standards and protocols. In addressing the newest 4G LTE mobile communications standards, Zyxel has introduced a compact mobile hotspot router for business travelers and mobile consumers, and an assortment of 4G-enabled CPEs and gateways for both indoor and outdoor deployments. This plug-and-play group ensures not only wireless performance as good as wired systems but also extended wireless coverage. Additionally, Zyxel offers Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) technology, which features voice processing capability to complement data-only networking LTE technology.

Zyxel also provides robust wireless solutions as alternatives for immediate and performance-intensive wireless deployment. 3G Femtocells and WiFi hotspots enable service providers and mobile operators to activate mobile services instantaneously for both residential and business customers. The 3G Femto Access Points can effectively enhance indoor wireless coverage while asserting high voice quality and mobile data throughput. The WiFi solution can effectively off-load mobile data from congested networks to ensure superior performance in high-density wireless environments.

Both Zyxel’s NXC5200 controllers and NWA5120 Access Point series are best-in-breed products, ensuring high manageability and outstanding user experience in WiFi connectivity. The NWA5120 Access Points are one of the first few such products to receive WiFi Passpoint™ certification, and feature automatic compliance capability with all WiFi certified Passpoint equipment. Such compliance offers operators the benefit of not only the capability to provide customers wireless service immediately, but also can minimize service calls for network selection and authentication.

Zyxel will also showcase its new SBG3300 and SBG3600 series security-enabled wireless gateways. The Wireless N and VDSL2 dual-function business gateways provide not only advanced IPSec-proven security function, but also enable 3G/4G LTE connectivity as backup or loadbalancing WAN. It’s designed specifically for small businesses with secured network protection when managing access complexity becomes critical to the increasing number of Internet-based cloud applications from both fixed and mobile broadband connections.

Guests to Zyxel’s debut at the Mobile World Congress will enjoy witnessing the presentation of these innovations that help the world connect.
