Zyxel teams up with Lumens to offer simple-to-deploy AV over IP solutions
Partnership gives channel partners streamlined AV integration via Zyxel switches
Hsinchu, Taiwan, December 8, 2022—Zyxel Networks, a leader in delivering secure and cloud-powered networking solutions, today announced that its switches have been fully certified for deployment with Lumens Digital Optics Inc. innovative IP cameras, transmitters and media processors as part of a new partnership.
The integration is a boon for VARs, system integrators, and channel partners in the AV industry, delivering a simplified user experience, stronger security, greater scalability, and enhanced resilience across managed systems.
The Lumens partnership comes after Zyxel launched its Networked AV mode in 2020 in order to boost the simplicity and efficiency with which network partners can offer AV system on a wide range of installations without compromising on network streaming performance.
Tailor-made Networked AV mode for streamlined management
Installers without network experience often have difficulty migrating from HDMI-based technology to networked-based AV due to the dozens of protocols on network switches. That’s where Zyxel’s Networked AV mode comes in: its simplified installation wizard can set up an entire AV over IP network in minutes.
To simplify network switch installation for AV over IP, Zyxel’s specialized Networked AV mode integrates all the most frequently used features that are necessary to get the job done. In addition to the intuitive setup wizard, switch port and system information, bandwidth utilization, and power usage status are all graphically displayed on a single tailor-made dashboard for network administrators to manage with ease.
“We are determined to make transitioning to an IP-based network as straightforward and efficient as possible,” said Kell Lin, Senior Associate Vice President of Zyxel Networks’ Networking SBU. “Our Networked AV mode is specially designed to turn complex AV over IP into plug-and-play. Our partnering with networked AV technology leaders like Lumens will help customers streamline the deployment without hassles, so that they could focus on delivering best-in-class audio and video services.”
A long-term market trend
Steven Liang, VP of Product Development for Lumens, said the partnership with Zyxel reflected the growing appetite for AV over IP in the market.
“As a global leader in the Pro AV industry, Lumens strives to provide the users robust AV over IP solutions,” Liang said. “Transmitting AV signals over IP infrastructures is already reality and we expect it to dominate the market for years to come. We are delighted to be working with Zyxel Networks to provide IP solutions which are secure, user-friendly, and easy to manage.”
Zyxel’s Networked AV mode is available for its XS3800, GS2220, and XGS2210 series switches, all available starting from firmware v4.70.
