ZyXEL steps up its challenge in enterprise and mid-markets with new family of fully-managed switches

ZyXEL Communications, is stepping up its challenge in the enterprise switching market, launching a series of fully-managed devices that support the heavier workloads being generated by voice and video content and remote connectivity and provide greatly-enhanced reliability and redundancy.

The new GS3700 and XGS3700 families are ideal for use in mission-critical networks. They come with dual modular power supplies and hot-swappable fans that extend product lifetime and reduce the risk of any network downtime. 

With their advanced Layer 2 Plus (Layer 3 Lite) Gigabit and core/aggregation-level switching capabilities, they are designed to provide consistent, high-performance access to high-density, virtualised data centres, support for video and voice, and for large wireless LAN deployments. A lifetime warranty and free firmware upgrades – for which most enterprise-focused vendors charge a subscription fee – mean the new switches also offer good investment protection and low running costs. Models with 24- and 48-ports, support for high-power PoE and four 10GB ports (on the XGS models) are available. 

For reseller partners, the GS3700 and XGS3700 ranges provide great potential to add value and offer customers a viable alternative to the usual corporate choices, says Martin Bratičák, Channel Leader CEE at ZyXEL.

Resellers can also take advantage of a 30% discount on not-for-resale demonstration units and pre-sales and project support from ZyXEL. Both the GS3700 and XGS3700 ranges are available throughout Europe now. 

As well as the wider enterprise and mid-markets, ZyXEL will be targeting specific vertical sectors, such as healthcare, education and hospitality with the new switches. Details of campaigns focusing on these areas will be provided to partners in the near future. These programmes will build on ZyXEL’s successful efforts to increase its share of the smart web-managed switch market over the past year. ZyXEL has enjoyed particular success here with its GS1910 range, which offers support for high-powered PoE with 24 or 48 ports and 10GB connectivity as well.
