Puype connects brewery IT network with De Halve Maan bottling plantThousands of litres of beer flow under the streets of Bruges, Belgium. The beer is brewed in the historic De Halve Maan brewery. Every day, Brugse Zot and Straffe Hendrik beers flow three kilometres underground from the brewery to the bottling plant. In addition to this pipeline, Puype Consulting & Computing – an IT Solution Provider for SMEs and freelancers – has also used the fibre optic cable that connects the brewery to the bottling plant.
Data traffic goes back and forth along this cable, which is not only fast and secure, but also creates a single central IT network.
The central IT network leads to more productivity and more efficient work: “Given the excavation work for the beer pipeline, it was a logical step to also build a fibre optic network. The big change this entailed was that both the brewery employees and the bottling plant employees can now work on one network."
