ZyXEL SecuASIC™ is the cutting-edge chipset that uses DFA and CPI technologies to greatly enhance performance. It has been designed to solve well-known performance issues that
could render a UTM device useless.

For instance, a Layer 2/3/4 lookup such as switching, routing or even load balancing takes as little as 50 instructions for a 1500-byte packet; however, a Layer 7 lookup like intrusion detection or virus scanning may need a whopping 45,000 instructions for the same packet, requiring 900 times more computing power than simpler tasks.
