More than offering considerable funds and personnel on research and development to raise the bar on communications innovations, ZyXEL offers society similar resources to discover and educate talented people. While many enterprises support non-profit organizations or foundations in order to promote their brand name, Dr. Shun-I Chu, founder of ZyXEL, personally established "Progress Educational Foundation" and the "ZyXEL Scholarship" with his own funds to provide incentives encouraging gifted students. In the past decade, more than 200 students have received the scholarship.

For sustainable operation and production, ZyXEL always seeks to develop sophisticated production and recycling processes to reduce both cost and pollution for protecting the environment and maximizing resource utilization.
All recyclable resources are separated and processed by qualified handling service providers under close monitoring, and the information is reported online according to Environmental Protection Administration regulations.
Public Services
To promote environmental awareness, ZyXEL regularly donates and supports social work organizations as well as government agencies on nature preservation, greener environment and resource recycling activities to ignite the society's awareness, and does its best to fulfill the role as a responsible corporate citizen.
ZyXEL Park
Establishment of "ZyXEL Park": the 5140 square meters of green space provides employees with a place to take a break. The park's diverse range of vegetation also neutralizes a substantial amount of the building's carbon dioxide, thus improving the local work environment.
Energy Conservation
- ZyXEL's corporate headquarters building utilizes glass sunroofs to save energy otherwise spent on daytime illumination.
- Hallways and non-operational areas in the HQ building run at only 50% illumination during the daytime to save energy.
- The air conditioning in the HQ building is set to maintain the 26 - 28°C/79°F - 82°F temperature to reduce energy consumption.
- "Stair-climbing Parties" are held in the HQ building to promote exercise and reduce elevator usage.

Ignite the information fire
Through the use of Internet-linked computers, a group of students from primary schools in the mountains of Hsinchu County,Taiwan are eager to show their beautiful hometown to the world, and to see the world for themselves through the Internet. ZyXEL, as an Internet communications company, stepped out to make the kids' dream come true: volunteers from ZyXEL purchased and delivered a batch of new computers, and set up a lab for the students to surf the Net and express themselves.
Establishment of "Morning Sun Lyceum"
Volunteers from ZyXEL raised money to build the "Morning Sun Lyceum" through community fairs and garage sales. The facility helps intellectually challenged children to enjoy the respect and support others do, and educates them to take care of themselves in the future. Field trips are regularly organized for these children, to keep them in touch with society and natural environments.
Care for Disadvantaged Children
ZyXEL periodically organizes donation events for the fund needed to provide children from aboriginal and financially challenged families with free meals. The fund is also shared with charity organizations and Family Support Centers.
Care for Solitary Senior Citizens
ZyXEL offers donations and condolences to senior citizens who lost their spouse due to the disastrous "921earthquake" in Taiwan in1999; it also provides funds and organizes events at nursing homes housing related victims.
Emergency Assistance
Support of school children after the Aere Typhoon, donations to refugees in the Southeast Asia Tsunami and Sichuan earthquake, among others, are all examples of opportunities where ZyXEL employees offered their sympathy and substantial help to unfortunate people.
