ZyXEL aims to capitalise on the growing popularity of Power over Ethernet

ZyXEL Communications, a leading supplier of networking and communications solutions, is looking to capitalise on the growing popularity of Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) web-managed switches by giving its partners extra incentives to promote its GS1910.

The company has seen an upsurge in demand for PoE-enabled models of its smart managed switches as a growing number of SMBs look to deploy IP surveillance systems, PoE wireless access points and IP phones.  ZyXEL’s GS1910-24HP and -48HP have the highest power rating currently available on a web-managed switch. With 30 watts of PoE power available per port and a total budget of 375 watts, they are capable of supporting more devices from a single switch. They can also support the latest and most sophisticated network devices available, such as outdoor IP video cameras with pan, zoom and tilt (PZT) capability.

With advanced Layer 2 features, they also offer good management capabilities and can be integrated onto any network. A lifetime warranty and local in-country support means that customers’ investments are safeguarded and resellers can offer GS1910 switches with total confidence. 

The surge in popularity of PoE is partly being driven by resellers, but it is also a growing opportunity for them, says Martin Bratičák, Head of Channel CEE at ZyXEL
