Hsinchu, Taiwan, October 9, 2008-- ZyXEL Communications (TSE: 2391), world's leading broadband access solutions provider, today debuts its WiMAX Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) for commercial use with the launch of Sprint's (NYSE:S) highly anticipated XOHM™ WiMAX service. ZyXEL joins Sprint's WiMAX ecosystem partners in helping incorporate mobile WiMAX technology in a range of computing, portable multimedia, interactive and other business and consumer devices.

ZyXEL's IEEE802.16e mobile WiMAX solution is the first standard-based Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) solution providing true mobility and end-to end Quality of Service (QoS) for emerging VoIP and triple-play multimedia applications. ZyXEL's WiMAX products are currently at use in more than 90 field-trials/deployments worldwide. ZyXEL's MAX-206 series CPEs are the world's first WiMAX Forum certified mobile devices that provide the highest link budget while WiMAX networks are still in the early stage of deployment.
