July 07, 1997

ANAHEIM, CA, July 7, 1997- PC Magazine n 112 announced in its July/August 1997 issue that the Prestige 128 ISDN Remote Access Router won its "Choix de la Redaction," or "Editors Choice," Award. Noted for its price:quality ratio, easy configuration menus and competent technical support, the ZyXEL Prestige 128 continues to prove itself as the most affordable and best performing choice for ISDN network users around the world.

The PC Magazine testers were especially impressed by the Prestige 128's consistent high performance, especially while testing with five users accessing the Internet simultaneously. Labeled "the best performer for small networks," the Prestige 128 was also regarded for its quick connection time and cost-saving Dial-on-Demand feature. Dial-on-Demand, or Connect-on-Demand, combined with Bandwidth-on-Demand allows the Prestige 128 to provide flexible bandwidth when needed, and keep costs down by reducing ISDN connection time.

"We are proud to see our Prestige Series continually being noted as a top performer in Europe as well as domestically," says Munira Brooks, manager of marketing and sales for ZyXEL Communications. "We are also delighted to hear that our users in France have received top notch French technical support. Our foremost goal is to provide the most comprehensive and knowledgeable support for users of the entire ZyXEL product line."

The Prestige128 router integrates bridging and routing capabilities with the industrys most extensive feature set to provide a cost-effective high-performance networking solution. Providing a complete client-end solution, the Prestige 128 enables Internet access for an unlimited number of users on the corporate LAN, wide area networking between LANs, and SOHO and telecommuter remote access to corporate LANs. With the multiple Single Users Account (SUA) feature, an unlimited number of users can access the Internet at the same time. The Prestige 128 ISDN Remote Access Router supports IP and IPX routing in addition to transparent bridging.

The Prestige Series of routers, including the Prestige 100 and Prestige 2864I, starts at US $599, and is the most affordable single-product remote access line of solutions currently available on the market. "No other manufacturer offers the same combination of features at this price," says Brooks.
